COMING TO OUR SENSES

Pilgrimage: 'A Particular Reality'

Collaboration Project with Ratiba Ayadi, 2022

OUB Collective Fine Art Exhibition, RuptureXIBIX, London, 21-23 April 2022

A Performance and Sculptural Installation by Ratiba Ayadi and Sarah Na. This collaborative work speaks to the beauty in hallowing winds and repetitive strains of a multi-faceted identity. The performance in collaboration with the sculptural installation archive the remnants of lost time between plains of existing. Ailments of the work document moments of a non-specific time - cradled by juxtaposing histories and cultures. A playlist is stored on the phone for listenable purposes to record sonic footprints in a study of involuntary memories. This collaboration journals the voyage of spirit and self - as a hybrid entity in disposition and worship.

To be as careless as the wind

To be as confident as the rain

as courageous as a hurricane.

I focus on expressing my personal impression about the feeling from the rare experience I could not have in normal life. Sometimes I feel I enjoy material affluence without being grateful, even though it would be never expected of someone who lives on the other side of the world.  I meet friends and talk about whatever I want to discuss. I can eat any food whatever I want to taste. I buy things whatever I need to have.  But maybe I lack the time to think about how thankful I am and how much I have. How easily I forget and overlook the close relationship because of my selfishness. I wish people could take a break to feel thankful and take a deep breath to get a fresh view of their life walking through artwork.
